Another year has nearly come and gone but the hair trends have kept on coming.

Whether we're finding inspiration from Hollywood celebrities or the models walking the catwalks of Paris, 2015 has brought twists, clips and curls to suit every occasion. Counting down the top trends of the year, hairstylist to the stars Asgar Saboo, who has tended the tresses of many celebrities, including Cindy Crawford and Eva Longoria, tells us about the top trends of 2015 and how we can recreate these great styles at home.

Low profile

This sleek, simple yet sophisticated style is a no brainer when it comes to finding a versatile trend, which is why it's been so popular throughout 2015. Perfect for when time isn't in your favour, you can dress up for an event or dress down for a workday, feeling confident that this style will compliment whatever you are wearing. A firm favourite with the likes of style icon Victoria Beckham and buxom beauty Kim Kardashian-West, and also seen on the Dior catwalk, these ladies show how it really works for whatever occasion you may encounter.

Tips: To keep it satin smooth, condition your hair and brush thoroughly to get a glossy sheen; or for a more casual look, tease slightly after tying and pull down loose locks to get that cool bed-head vibe.

Boho waves

For a last minute liaison, boho waves are a perfect way to save the day. Queen of boho chic Gisele Bundchen leads the way with her effortless loose locks, creating a laid back, beach vibe. We've seen this look on this year's red carpets and at the hottest parties, and it's not difficult to see why - not only is there no need to attempt a huge amount of styling, leaving your hair unwashed is the perfect way to create more volume and maintain the waves.

Tips: For really straight hair, use a curling wand to add a few loose curls and leave to drop for a couple of hours before spraying. Adding a small twist keeps those loose ends away from your face, and gives you a fashionable, festival ready style whilst those of you who are feeling daring could try a few blonde highlights to really show off the dark and light tones created when curling.

Textured fringe

This updated classic is the newest trend to be rocking the hair world. This young, fresh style is a signature look for style icons Alexa Chung and Suki Waterhouse, and with the little attention it requires, it's no wonder the style is catching on. Thicker hair works best to give a full and healthy look whilst just washed hair a clean yet casual vibe.

Tips: There is no need to straighten curly or wavy hair as this will give the style more volume, although running straighteners over the hair will help to keep the fringe in place. Use a texturising powder to add a little va va voom to this day or night look.

Braids and plaits

Braids and plaits have been a major trend this year, with the style gracing the catwalks of DKNY, Michael Kors and Giorgio Armani. Whether it's a classic up do for an event or a quick day-to-day work wear style, adding a braid breathes a little life into your hair without you having to slave away on the styling for hours.

Tips: Adding a few curls to your hair before plaiting adds more volume, whilst keeping it straight gives a smooth and sleek finish. Go for the half up-half down style by plaiting the front sections of your hair and securing with bobby pins, as seen on Poppy Delevingne.

Big buns

An easy yet glamorous style for any occasion. When you don't have time to tend to your tresses but want a stylish look suitable for the workplace, a top-knot bun is the ideal go-to, especially since this style has been seen everywhere this year. Following the likes of models Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne, this simple style takes seconds to perfect but will last for hours. For a messy and casual vibe, simply scrunch your hair together and secure with a hair band and grips if necessary.

Tips: If you have more time on your hands or want to perfect your do for the night ahead, brush through your hair to smooth and twist round to give a sleek finish. If loose strands aren't your thing, simply grip and spray into place.
